Using ideas from Terri Camp's Ignite the Fire, one of the things my
2nd daughter did for part of her world history was a
historical
fashion notebook.
Her learning was not limited to just the fashions, but
trends in the time periods, which reflected their belief systems, some of the
rulers of the time, etc. She studied clothing and trends beginning back
in Biblical times through the Victorian age. Her notebook consisted
of pictures and information about how items were used, why they were used
that way, how clothing reflected social status, and more. This was a fun
project for her that she spent a great deal of her free time working on.
Notebooking is very popular now, and can be used in many ways. It is
an excellent way to study many subjects and have fun
learning.

That is a good idea for girls. When I was a girl, in the 60's, my favorite book was the "D" Worldbook Encyclopedia. "D" for Dress. There were many pictures (at least in the old version we had) of the different dress of different eras.
I think there are also paperdolls available that would be good to use.
Thanks!
That sounds like a really fun project. I will have to remember that in a few years when my dd is a little older. Thanks!
