Verse of the WeekPsalm 62:8
"Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour
out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."Thought for
the WeekDo you see prayer as an absolute necessity? Someone has said
that prayer is "the holy breathing of the soul." What happens when your
breathing is restricted or, worse yet, if it stops? Even so, our spiritual
life's breath is in the absolute necessity of prayer. Another saying goes,
"Prayer should be our first line of defense rather than our last resort."
Why is prayer so vital? Because it keeps us in communion with our Father.
Think about this: the Creator of the universe and all that is in it desires
your company. As you bring Him our requests this week, let it be a reminder
of your utter dependence upon Him for your very life's breath. As the
psalmist says, pour out your heart before Him. ~dlw
