As we begin receiving Christmas cards at our house, we hang them around the doorway to our dining room and kitchen.  One of our favorite traditions is celebrating advent.  Several nights a week, we light the advent candles and study advent related scriptures.  Afterwards, each person picks one or two names of families we have gotten cards from.  We then have prayer time and each person prays for the families they've picked.   We close by singing a Christmas hymn.
