Hi friends! The kids and I were on our way to the organic farm this week
and we were overtaken by fog! It was as thick as, well, you know how they
always say "pea soup." Well, this fog was so thick that you couldn't even see
the other cars on the road, and some people even refused to turn on their car
lights. We had to pull off at the first rest stop we came to, and we almost
missed it because there was zero visibility!
It kind of reminds me of life. There are days when we just can't see our
destination, or even the road we are supposed to be on, because circumstances
obscure our vision. So we either keep heading into the fog, knowing full well
that we need our lights on but refusing to do the obvious. Sometimes, even with
them on, we have to pull over and wait for the cloud of fog to lift, so we can
get back on track.
We all have a vision, or should have some sort of direction in our
home education. But "life" happens and we get "fogged" in, so that we lose
sight of where we were headed. We can keep our "lights" on by choosing to trust
God.
Sometimes, we still can't see the way, even when we are walking the walk of
faith! But we don't give up, just because we don't "see" what is up ahead.
Sometimes it is necessary to "pull over" and wait for the answer, or at
least wait for the sky to clear so we can move ahead. We still might not see
the "final destination" but with Christ leading us, we know that we are in good
hands and the joy is in the journey!
Let me tell you a bit more about this journey. After we finally arrived
safe and sound at our destination, we worked, worked, and worked some more. We
were so exhausted by the end of the day but we had a bounty of fruits (and
vegetables!) for our labor. Not only physical fruit, but fruit of the spiritual
kind. Spiritually we were fed and blessed by good fellowship and working hard
together, completing a task.
Every day, every word, every ounce of strength that you give to others is
worth it. Don't ever forget! Keep your eye on the prize, even if you can't see
it. Now we are home, safe and sound and someday we will all truly be home,
in our heavenly home with the one who planned all this for His glory. It
just doesn't get any better than this!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoying this foggy moment with me----I hope the
fog as lifted for you today!
Nancy Baetz is a very tired Mom today but is SO thankful that she can rest
peacefully knowing that God is in control of it all. Stop by
her
blog and say hello!
