While we wait for our next Tip of the Day Tipster to get her rebellious computer back in order, I thought it would be fun to start a Tip of the Day Meme! Feel free to grab this one, post it on your blog and leave a comment here that you did.
1. What is your favorite homeschool tip? Color coding. This has carried over into other items outside of our schooling. When I see the orange cup sitting on the counter I know right away who it belongs too and who left it out!
2. What is your favorite housekeeping tip? Time how long it takes to do an activity. When you relize that it really only takes you five minutes to do it you are more likely to do it then when you thought it would take you forever.
3. What is your favorite child rearing tip? Keep them with you. It's where they want to be.
4. What book or website of tips do you look to regularly? I like Carla Emery's, Encyclopedia of Country Living and Amy Dacyczyn's, The Complete Tightwad Gazette.
5. What tip have you tried but found to be disastrous? Teaching a three year old to use scissors. Dumb tip. He clipped the cat, himself, his brother, the carpet, and he cut numerous papers into tiny bits.
6. What "Old Wives Tale" tip do you think really works? Eat a spoonful of sugar to stop the hiccups.
7. Has anyone ever offered you a tip that suggested you had better use it because you really need it? If so what was it? Yes, a friend told me to quit thinking about starting homeschooling because if I couldn't get along with my daughter while she was home from pre-school then I wouldn't get along with her all day, every day, day after day after day....
8. Did you utilize the tip or let it go in one ear and out the other? If you used it was it helpful? NO! That tip was given to me 12 years ago. My relationship with my daughter became much better by keeping her home.
I added your Tips to my blog and answered the questions. It was fun to do. Thanks for the idea.
