With all the talk lately of how bad your microwave is for you, our family decided to try baking our bacon in the oven. We already like to use turkey bacon rather than pig bacon, and we like ours crispy. We had been using the microwave, but it gets so dried out that way. When we pan fried it, it would either burn on the edges or be too soft in the middle. NO MORE! Now we just layer foil on a cookie sheet and lay out 8 slices of bacon – enough for each of our four person family to have two helpings (now we don’t have to cook it in turns). We set the oven for 350 degrees F and let the bacon cook while I make pancakes and scrambled eggs. It is a great way to multi-task in the kitchen in the morning. By the time the table is set (usually between 15-20 minutes), the bacon is ready! If you try it, be sure to watch it closely to make sure you don’t go over until you know how long your oven will take.
Enjoy your no-hassle, crispy baked turkey bacon!
