“Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”  John 4:14

Thought for the Week

I have been so thirsty lately and not just for physical water – although I have to have my glass of water or cup of coffee or tea near me at all times.  Extreme thirst has something to do with my body not getting what it needs to process the things going on in it.  I am also finding myself thirsty for the living water of life from Jesus Christ Himself.  It has something to do with my spirit not getting what it needs to process the things going on in my heart and life. I am not satisfied with anything less. I don’t want to be consumed with all of these physical needs that seem pressing – having my physical needs met will only satisfy me for a very short time.  I desire to be consumed with that well of water springing up within that will truly satisfy my soul for eternity.  Nothing on earth and certainly no earthly person will ever satisfy that thirst.  Anything and everything besides the Water of Life that Jesus offers us will disappoint us when we look for fulfillment of that thirsting of our soul. Only Jesus satisfies – keep Him near you like that cup of coffee or tea and keep drinking!   ~dlw
