The Lord seeth not as man seeth;
for man looketh on the outward
appearance, but the Lord looketh
on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
Thought for the Week
Ever felt like you were so
grungy that you didnt want
anyone seeing you? I
am mothering a toddler and a
three year old as well as five
other children and a husband all
needing my attention. I do not
always have the time to make
myself look all that great! On
those days, I hope no-one else sees
me, except for my immediate
family and they love me no
matter what I look like because
they know my heart.
God knows even better what is
going on in my heart and whether
or not my heart is gracious or
grungy. I want my heart to be
pleasing to Him so that He will
enjoy His abode there.
Does your family enjoy their
abode with you? Are you
reflecting Who is abiding in you?
If so, His beauty will shine
through no matter what your
outward appearance. We should
keep this in mind when dealing
with our spouses and children as
well. They may not look like
much on the outside; they may
even be pretty grungy
sometimes, but God is doing a
work in their hearts and it would
do us and them good to realize
this and see them as God does. He
loves them enough to lay down His
life for them. How can we do
