Family Traditions
The day before yesterday I talked about the tradition our family has of burning our Christmas tree every New Years Eve. If you missed that exciting post you can still read it here. Today Im going to share our tradition of traveling to Tanglewood Park near Winston-Salem NC to view the beautiful Festival of Lights each year. We don't get there every year but we try. Its miles and miles of nothing but Christmas lights and about halfway through the display you can stop and roast marshmallows over a warm and toasty fire. I think this is their fourteenth season. If you live anywhere in the vicinity its well worth the drive to see the lights at Tanglewood Park.
Barbara at MOMMYLIFE has some excellent tips on Family Traditions on her webblog. She writes, "No matter what your traditions are, you should not be a slave to them. The traditions exist to serve the family, not vice versa."
I'll also take this chance to say goodbye for now. I've written the Tip of the Month for the month of November but someone else will be writing for December. It's quite a task but very fun so if you haven't had a turn let Tia know you are interested. Remember to keep Jesus first!
Julie blogs at Raising Three Knights and a Princess and is the mom to four beautiful kiddos.
