Verse for the Week
Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee. Psalm 119:11

Thought for the Week
Did you read that verse three times? I hoped you would. Let me explain. My two year old is gaining new phrases to add to her vocabulary, and in the process, has become very repetitive. As I sit here I am overhearing her repeating, Chrifer, can I see cadipider? (Translation: Christopher, can I see the caterpillar?) If Christopher doesnt answer right away, or if she is just testing her new phrase, she will repeat and repeat and repeat normally to the point of irritation! But, boy, is she learning fast! Its the daily, natural things in life that seem to convict me the most. After listening to her repetition, I realized that I hadnt been keeping up with memorizing the scriptures as I had purposed earlier in the year. And I know that if I just use the same repetition exercise as my two year old, I would have a ton of scriptures down by now. I want to be as proactive as she is even if its to the point of over-doing it, for I know there is POWER in the Word (something which I am in need of even now) and even more power in my life if I would just hide it in my heart. Are you or your children memorizing any scripture right now? How about starting today. ~ dlw
