“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has
prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Have you made any New Year’s Resolutions for 2007? What are your goals for the upcoming year - to lose weight, have a cleaner house, be nicer to your family, or get closer to God? When I look back to resolutions I have made in the past, I see that the ones I prayerfully made were the ones that actually became a reality.
One New Year’s Day, twelve years ago, I prayerfully made a resolution to have a baby that year. In December, that resolution came true when I delivered a baby boy. Since then, I have included God in my New Year’s resolutions and seen His hand upon them, making them come true in ways I could not have imagined.
One New Year’s Day, I asked the Lord to plan a wonderful vacation for my family and me for that year. I was amazed to see how He engineered a trip to Disney World. Within weeks, a friend had approached me, asking us if we would like to spend a week at a time-share condo in Orlando. My parents met us there and paid for our tickets to Disney World and took us to some wonderful restaurants that week.
Another year, I considered the lilies of the field and decided to believe in Him to provide for my family’s clothing needs. For the past three years, God has provided for all our needs in amazing ways.
My tip of the day is to pray for God to help you accomplish the resolutions you make this year. When we prayerfully believe in Him to accomplish goals, we sign up for a faith adventure course that gives God the opportunity to show us things we never could have thought possible.
Let me introduce myself. I am Cindy Blackwell, the Tip of the Day Writer for the month of January. I have three sons, ages 4, 7 and 11, and have been homeschooling for six years. Check out my blog site at http:/www.homeschoolblogger.com/mustardseed/.
