Tip of the Day:
Keep on hand review books that can be used in place of regular schoolwork for those times when teaching is inconvenient.
I recommend a product that a local homeschooler in my support group has produced, called
Summer Books.
The author, Angela Ankers, has written Summer Books for all grade levels, as a way to review the main subjects: math, English, writing, reading comprehension, thinking skills, and science. They are great to have on hand for trips in the car, visiting Grandma, when Mom is having a baby, etc.
I have personally used this product in my homeschool and appreciated the fact that a one-page worksheet gave a comprehensive review of all the main subjects. These books are a wonderful way to brush up on skills during the year as well as in the summer.

Free worksheets are available on Angela’s website for you to sample.
If you have any other ideas on what to do for those times when a full curriculum would be too difficult, please comment.
