Tip of the Day ~ Plan to Attend a Writer's Conference this Year

2:07 AM, Jan. 15, 2007
Many of you at HSB are writers in the making.  If writing is something you feel called to do, I encourage you to look into attending a Writer’s Conference.  Many are held throughout the year and you may find one near you.

Last May, a friend encouraged me to attend a Writer’s Conference with her.  I asked the Lord and He told me I was not to attend that particular one.  I was disappointed, but knew He had reasons for my not going.

To my delight, my husband urged me to go to one in October that he heard about.  I signed up to go and asked a friend to join me.  This time I had the favor of the Lord!  It was truly one of the best conferences I have ever attended.

There, the editor of Ministries Today highly recommended that every “wannabe” writer needs to have a blog site.  Among other things, it is a great way to practice writing skills.  Each of you is already practicing this skill.

Someone else stressed that the most important writing we may do are blogs and letters.  One letter or one blog can change someone’s life.  We are not to discount what we do on this site.  By posting blogs, we may be influencing others in ways we never could have dreamed.

My tip of the day is to look into a writer’s conference if you feel called to write.  If blogs are all you feel called to do, be encouraged that you can change someone’s life forever by what you say.  If all you want to write are blogs, do them as unto the Lord!

Please comment on what writing means to you.

Let me introduce myself.  I am Cindy Blackwell, the Tip of the Day Writer for January.  I have three sons, ages 4, 7, and 11, and have been homeschooling for six years.  You can check out my homeschool blog site at http:/homeschoolblogger.com/mustardseed/.   On this site, I share testimonies to plant a mustard seed of faith, on what God has done in my homeschool as I believe in Him for my family's needs.
