I used to be a compulsive scrapbooker! I even planned events around stickers and idea pages that I liked. That chapter of my life is over now, as home school takes a big chunk of the time that used to be spent making scrapbooks.
Here’s a tip that makes the scrapbooking process not seem so daunting.
Make a New Year’s resolution to do a two-page spread every January of pictures that highlight events of the past year. It’s much easier to find time to complete two pages a year than covering every event within a year. This can be done as a collage, making the most of the space on the two pages while highlighing the past year's occasions.
The pictures that don’t get scrapped can be filed away for when you do have the time to work on your scrapbooks. There are many storage solutions available.
I save my pictures in Rubbermaid videotape containers, using tabbed 4x6 index cards as dividers. On these cards, I label the month and year. Within that month, I use 4x6 index cards to label the events that happened that month. I file the pictures I have taken as well as any souvenirs, such as brochures or tickets that go along with the event.
Let me introduce myself. I am Cindy Blackwell, the Tip of the Day writer for the month of January. I homeschool my three boys, ages 4, 7 and 11. We have been homeschooling for six years. You can check out my blog site at http:/homeschoolblogger.com/mustardseed/.
Some of you may have ideas on how to keep pictures organized. Please comment.
