I mean... razor sharp.
They are sharp in their choice of homeschooling curriculums, in the use of their time, in their knowledge, understanding and wisdom. And finally, in the way they live.
One of the reasons I can say this is because If you spend time on their message boards, their chat rooms, or their yahoo groups (just listening), you begin to see a picture surface of who they are. And if you personally know some of these parents, they are a delight to have lunch with. They have been a source of inspiration to me.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17
The element of Iron is notable for it’s hardness, and strength.
Iron is used for structures that require a strong framework. And what friendship can flourish in weakness?
A friend who is like iron is a true friend who faithfully inflicts wounds, but, he does so in love.
As a result of having a “trivium sharp” (hard), friend—a true one—a man develops the capacity to succeed in his tasks as an effective tool, and in the end he will thank his friend for being hard as iron.
If you don’t already use the Trivium in your homeschooling, it never too late.
