My most disorganized day?? Wasn't that today?
I didn't feel that great yesterday, so when I went to bed the house was a disaster! I woke up this morning - late! Today was my oldest daughter's bridal shower, so I had a lot to do. Well, the kitchen was a mess, so I couldn't do a thing until I at least washed the dishes needed to prepare stuff for the shower! I forgot half of the stuff at the store yesterday because, well, I went shopping not feeling well! Three of my kids had to be rushed off to meet their ride to a special church meeting today. We are having trouble with our well, so I had to rush the girls to my father's for showers. I rushed to get everyone to the shower and realized that I left all of the drinks for the party at my dad's. I had to drop off the bride-to-be and head off to get the drinks. I ended up being late for my daughter's shower! After the shower, I just wanted to head home, but when I jumped into the truck, I realized that the gas tank had leaked out all of my gas. I had $4.00 on me, so I went straight to the gas station (which was right beside me, thank God). My daughter asked some people to help bring home her gifts to, of course, the messy house that was still waiting for me. I decided to sit down and blog!
Hmm, I can't believe that I shared all of this! I guess it was a bad day!

count me in!

My most disorganized day, would have had to be last sunday. You know you have lost control, when every single room in the house looks like a tornado hit it. It is bad when it seems like all you can do for your house, is torch it. The disorganization ended up bringing me to tears. Where to start? Where do I put everything? The overwhelming feeling of it all could have easily caused me to loose my mind. Luckily my dear husband, and my closest friend came to my rescue, and helped me out. I got over my guilt of throwing away all of the little pieces of 'art' work that my daughter leaves all over the house, and got everything back to normal. The schoolbooks are now in their proper place rather than stacked in every corner.

I am not a very organized person. "Organizationally challenged" more like it. I can get a hold of my house time to time, but within the week, everything is scattered and homeless again. I could use a book like this one!

Busy Day

9:59 AM, May. 15, 2007, posted by MotherHen
My most disorganized day? Well, let's see...how about every day. I faithfully "plan" out what I'd like us all to accomplish. I list all school work, chores, meals to prepare and errands that need to be done. I post charts and lists and pithy little sayings all around our living areas and then I throw up my hands in exasperation. All bets are off...the phone starts ringing just as we sit down to read, the baby cries when we try to have a math lesson--or any lesson for that matter, the toddler decides to sing LOUDLY as we discuss history. the older kiddos argue over who is sitting where and who has what pencil! No sooner do I get everyone quiet and occupied then the door bell rings and we are back to square one. On top of all this the house is a mess; toys EVERYWHERE!! The clean laundry didn't get dried so now it smells "off" and must be washed again and the rest of the mountains of laundry are spilling out of the laundry room into the hallway. The dishes didn't get cleaned or the counters cleared...from last night's dinner and this morning's breakfast...and now it's lunch time...who has time for lunch? Unfortunately the wee chicks don't see it that way...they just want their tummies filled, NOW! Let's have leftover's ...oh wait, we can't 'cause the food from last night is still on the counters...of course the older chicks don't know how the kitchen could have been left that way...it wasn't their night for dishes! Arrgghh!!! Will this vicious circle never end?

Hmm My worst disorganized day

I think every day is disorganized. I am spinning with so much going on. I miss appointments, my house is mess, The dog decides to pee on the floor one time in a year but does it when company is here, The kids vomit, The baby cries, its all choas. LOL I forget to mail papers and have to drive them in. I have to plan and plan and call drs. for appointments and make a dental appointment. Plan meals and who stuffed toilet paper under the claw foot tub. Why does my dd9 make piles in the center of her room. It goes on and on.

Sounds great

What a great book. It is so true that there is no one size that fits all in homeschooling, just as there is no one size fits all for children (God makes them all so beautiful and unique, so different that we are forced on our knees to seek him for the answers). I think this sounds like a great book of encouragement.

Disorganized?

Me, no. My friends would laugh at that. I am incredibly organized. My children have been trained that at certain times of the day we do school work, chores, play times, etc. I have a menu schedule, a daily schedule for me and the children, a cleaning schedule for me and the children. I have everything amazingly organized. What do I struggle with? Nurturing. Since I was raised with a very abusive past, and I am kind of a newer Christian, I struggle with trying to nurture and love on my children. My childhood memories were hiding under my bed, my closet in the woods outside our home, praying that I wouldn't be the first found by my mom when she got home after work. Whichever child was found first paid a high price, a hellish welcome home, mother. Of course then she would force me to hug her after she had her fits of rage. So, as a homeschooler, I struggle with relaxing. I struggle with just enjoying my children. I trust God will continue to help me to change, but honestly I struggle with those things-perhaps, I am an odd duck. Is there anyone else that struggles with nurturing? I am like two left feet struggling so bad in this way. HELP...That is why I blog on here, so that I can learn how to nurture from those who are so strong in that area, gleaning from them.
