The Busy Woman ~ When All Else Fails Release Control
12:24 AM, Jun. 4, 2007
I started writing this on Monday, May 28th. I'm proud to say that I started back to the gym this morning to get my walking and running stamina up for the 2007 Walk To Cure Diabetes. It's been months since I was on a treadmill. The family didn't want me to do anything until after my tests but heck, that could be another month! That's when it hit me that either way I'm going to try to get into shape. So why should I wait?
I also realized something while at the gym today. It's only difficult for me to get out of bed to get to the gym in the morning. Once I'm there, the working out part is not a big deal. (It also didn't hurt that hubby got me cute workout clothes. {smile}) So I sort of quizzed a couple of ladies while there and they said the same thing. They only have trouble getting out of bed and getting to the gym. Once they are there, it is fine. What does it take to get YOU dressed and off to the gym or for a walk? Ask yourself and see what you say.
The only way I got to this place is by releasing control to God. This meant giving up many mundane things that I enjoyed doing during the day and telling people that while I really would love to chat a bit, I'm taking control of my time and right now that time has to be for my health. People appreciated my honesty and didn't hold it against me. This freed me up to volunteer for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) which is my passion. Helping them heals my heart. That's good for my health. (Make sense?)
It's now Tuesday and I had a great doctors appointment. I no longer have nodules on my lung. I just knew it was nothing. God told me so! {wink} There are other things to check but I'm happy to say that I don't think I have anything to worry about at all.
Moving on - Tonight is Wednesday and I worked out and ran a mile again this morning. Then God allowed me to do a ton of things today for many areas of business and JDRF.
Releasing control has been difficult because I don't have as rigid of a schedule as my personality is used to. But being open to what God has in store is so much better!
Today is Friday morning and I have to go for blood tests. Then I can come back to work and get started on my list of to-do's. I have a plan of action and pray for focus. If I stay focused today, tomorrow I get to go play at my friends house. LOL
Can you release control to God? He has so many wonderful things waiting for you!
