Todays crafts are some fun Summer Paper Crafts.
Fruit paper Weaving.
What is you favorite fruit to eat during the Hot summer months. Our favorite is strawberries.
So today we created Strawberry weaving projects to keep those little hands busy.

All you need is some construction paper, a glue stick and some scissors. Draw on a large
Piece of construction paper your favorite fruit. Then cut the shape out. You want your weaving lines to be even so take a piece of paper that will fit inside of your fruit in a square shape. Lay that down and trace it. Fold the fruit in half and cut even strips to the line. It will look like the one below. You can see part of the square shape I drew the other part is the lines that you would be cutting on and use as a guide for the rest of your lines.

Then you want to cut a contrasting color of paper into to strips to do your weaving. Cut them the length of you fruit and about 1in. wide. You can cut them smaller if your fruit is smaller.
Then add any details to the fruit to be able to distingish what it is.
*Weaving- You want to take your paper and go under the first pc. and over the next . Continue until the end of the fruit. Then start you next pc. opposite your other one. so if you started under this time you will overlap the first paper. You may need to trim your strips to fit your fruit and once finished it helps it use your glue stick to secure the pc.

Sun Catchers!
What you need:
Construction paper
Tissue paper or streamers
Old Computer CDs
Construction paper
Sequins
and glue
There is finally a use for your old CDs . I like to save the ones that come in the mail to try to get you to use their internet provider. Trace around the CD on Orange construction paper. (Yellow or red would work too. ) Then draw your suns rays like below. (hope you can see that it is clear in the photo. Just not when I transfered it)

Now you are ready to cut out the sun shape. Glue the CD in place in the center with the shiny side up. Add sequins or any other shiny items to the CD. You can also glue or tape on streamers. What you have is a fun sun catcher for you child to hang in their room.
