It's a not a bad report, more of a curious one, why would high schoolers choose for themselves the option to homeschool? What about prom? What about socialization? What about graduation?
That high schoolers are choosing to homeschool through their high school years and petitioning their parents to allow them this option should give everyone a clue. Time in the classroom is not well spent. Serious students recognize this and want to take control of their own academics, their own futures.

Jun. 3, 2007 - That is so true...
I know several public schoolers who wanted to be homeschooled. It is really no wonder.

Lol, as both my girls just opted out of public high school, where one was soring in AP and duel enrollment and the other just enjoying the social whirl, I can personally state that the kids want out of the 3000+ kids shoved into classrooms and calling it learning. The oldest opted to just get her GED so she can just get on with college and stop messing with the high school loops. The other just fed up with the bad side to too many kids jammed together.
Anyway, public school needs major improvment if they want to have my smart kids.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Very interesting
Now if the autorities would just add the information from that article to the startling 30% nationwide drop out rate, maybe someone will open their eyes. In the meantime, I am so grateful for homeschooling! We start high school this year, also, and my daughter woudn't want it any other way! They don't have horses at our area high schools, lol!
