Home Where They Belong ~ Maryland Parents Have No Say About Sex-Education

1:45 AM, Jul. 11, 2007

Gena needs a breather, so for the next couple of weeks it is my duty to entertain and inform you the readers.  Gena will still be popping in and out around HSB keeping an eye on things, and she will still be reading all the comments here so please be sure to leave her some.  She likes comments.  Let's get on with today's news!

Parents in Montgomery County, Maryland, should be very concerned over the State Board of Education's ruling to educate students with a new sex education curriculum that will teach homosexuality, among other "free love" topics, as acceptable behavior.  You can read about that HERE.

While that is scary enough what is even more atrocious, albeit not surprising, is that the Board has determined that a parent's rights to bring up their children the way they would like is, "not absolute," and "must bend to the state's duty to educate its citizens."  Which is a nice way of saying, "You can't pull your child out of these classes."  Does anyone else feel a cold wind and hear the howling of Russian wolves?  Toss me a furry hat comrade.

Parents you do have a choice.  You don't have to let your children sit in on classes that teach them to serve themselves.  Bring them home where they can learn about true love.

Nice job Tia!
"Does anyone else feel a cold wind and hear the howling of Russian wolves? Toss me a furry hat comrade."
I dunno... just the amusement of it is kinda' scary!!

I think about 3 years ago, I said to Matt that this is overtly becoming the United States of Socialist America. Who is "We the People" anymore, anyway???

You know, the sad thing is that the educators and legislators are actually behind the kids themselves. A lot of them are already practicing what the schools are going to start teaching, due to the lax in parental guidance. The rest of the ps'ers then have to just take what is dished out because of that!!
GET THEM HOME!! Do whatever it takes to be with them all the time. That is our job... we are the PARENTS, aren't we??

I am from Montgomery County Maryland, and it makes me so sad and sick that they are doing this. I must say I'm not terribly surprised though. The whole metro area is pretty liberal...one of the reasons we now live in Tennessee

Jul. 7, 2007 - "We the State"

Jacqui

I wrote this a while ago on my blog, it is the spunkified version of the Preamble

"We the state, in order to form a more perfect worker, establish standards to insure domestic conformity, provide for common tests, promote general dependency, and secure the tyranny of stupidity for most of its citizens, do ordain and establish public schools for the people of the United States of America. "

Jul. 8, 2007 - It is starting to sound more and more like Germany.

And that worries me much. When thing I pray for often is that God will allow my children and grandchildren the opportunity and freedom to homeschool.

Good post Tia :) The blog-dad The Defender /defender here on HSB gave us the book "None Dare Call it Education" by John A. Stormer. It lays it all out what the socialists have been doing with the educational institutions for the last 50 years. very sobering.

Spunky I sent you an email :) that's a good rewrite!

Denise T

Jul. 9, 2007 - I'm a Marylander...

though not in that county. I've already sent off a couple of emails to the governor and the Board of Education officials on this subject. Guess whose email inboxes are full?? We can only hope and pray that these school officials listen to the PEOPLE and not the special interest groups and change their policy. I wonder how many Montgomery county parents will bring their kids home where they belong as a result of this insanity?

Blessings,
Kym

Things sure have changed!!! I remember having to get my mom's permission to sit through a class in the 5th grade that just told me how my body would change over the next few years. If the parent didn't want the child to hear it, they just opted out.
