Taming the Chaos ~ "Traveling Light" Contest ~ Week 4!

1:48 AM, Aug. 21, 2007

Weigh in to win!

Lose to win!

It isn't too late!  The contest continues through the end of August !  Keep posting your weights, as every 50 pounds you lose earns one entry in a drawing for gift certificates to The Old Schoolhouse Store.  (Complete rules here)

Darlene (keldaris) lost 75!

Laura (FoggyMountainFarm) lost 76 pounds so far!

Andrea (andijeane) lost 65!

April (ElCloud) lost 100.5 pounds!

Misty (3boyz) lost 120 pounds already!

Maleah is traveling at least 592 pounds lighter!  From reading her blog I'm thinking there might be some she hasn't reported yet, and a post in the comments sounded like a couch and loveseat were going to be added to this total.   Maleah, correct me if my total for you is off, please!   (Eagerly awaiting news about the baby who is due any day too!)

Please, anyone feel free to give me a nudge if I'm leaving you out or miscalculating your total.

My own totals (although I can't enter the drawing):

Total for first few weeks of the contest: 454

This week:
6 pounds of old bedding (big bulky bedding for sizes of beds we don't even own!)

8 pounds of  miscellaneous  barn stuff

5 pounds of paper from the study!

28 pounds of Gardening Encyclopedias given to my friend (with the internet available these specialized encyclopedias--which were also quite dated, just weren't worth the space they consumed.)

4 pounds of old golf and bowling shoes that mice had discovered out in the barn... ICK!

17 more pounds in books

Total: 62 pounds this week.  My new grand total: 516!

Make goals for yourself!  One of mine was to no longer double shelve books in the study!   (Mission accomplished!) Evaluate object to make sure everything is fulfilling a purpose--even if it is simply the purpose of granting pleasure!

Keep up the good work!  I hope many will jump in and join the contest!  There is still time to lose!

Travel Light,

I have gotten rid of an additional 10 lbs. of books. Loveseat and couch still there.

We also gained a 7lb 12oz baby this week. I posted a more detailed update and baby pictures on my blog. :)

I want to join! I want to join! I have been doing a massive decluttering. I will be having a yardsale in a couple of weeks. Could I please join.
Do I need to leave a list here or do I list it on my blog? I can't wait to weigh all the things I'm getting rid of. Could I have the "Traveling Light" suitcase to put on my blog. I am so excited I think I may burst.

Here's a link to little buttons for your blog:

Feel free to put the suitcase banner on your own site!

Three cheers on the decluttering! I hope the yard sale does well!

Thanks, Dell. We happen to think she's a tiny bit adorable too.

Welcome, Ruth! You're catching up to me. I am going to have to look harder for stuff to get rid of. ;)

The couch and loveseat were suppose to be gone today. I was *promised* they would be gone today, but alas they are still there. This becoming a saga on its own. :(
