I imagine this will be a great magazine. I now have a high schooler in homeschooler/Christian schooler football. The Pioneer Football League, thus I have seen what a blessing this has been, not just for him but our entire family; with new relationships and experiences.
I posted it on the Homestead Front Porch!
This is so interesting. I'd love to win! I probably can't, but I wish I could. :O)

What a great product! This is something homeschoolers need. It is hard when kids get to the age of wanting to compete in sports and feel left out. Please enter me in the contest!

That magazine looks like a winner!
This would be great to share with the leadership of our daughter's homeschool volleyball team...the Dayton Golden Angels!! (JV & V) They have played 2 scrimmage games already this year - and won both - and are on their way to try to make this the varsity's THIRD undefeated year in a row! They are also going to the National tourney in Omaha in November.
Two seasons ago, our oldest daughter, now a homeschool grad, was voted most improved and MVP!
Our homeschoolers also have JV & V boys' basketball - the Miami Valley Saints.

This Publication has long been needed
Sounds like an excellent publication; their web site is full of good information, too.
Organized sports for the homeschooling community is well developed in highly populated areas and there needs to be more awareness of just how well organized our hs families can be when coming together for anything - including sports. This looks to be another great tool to support hs families and break the mindset that sports can only be organized in the traditional school setting (public &/or private).

I think it's such an inspiration for our children who feel left out to read about other homeschoolers who are suceeding even in college and professionally.
My husband wasn't sure about homeschooling because he wanted our boys to be able to participate in sports. He's found out that we have options, but this magazine might also help hesitant dads realize that their kids can still participate in those sports.

Great Idea!
My DH has read Sports Illustrated since the day we met. His folks give it to him for Christmas every year. And every week he looks for it and reads it cover to cover. Thankfully, he doesn't even look at the swimsuit issue, as we decided long ago that I get the mail, and I just throw it out. Now our seven-year-old son is reading, and interested in sports. He wants to read his dad's magazine. But I don't think it's appropriate - with all the ads and examples of ungodly men. So I am really excited about this and other magazines coming out. How wonderful to focus on those who are truly heros! An not just overpaid freaks with a bad attitude.

He's very athletic, and really enjoys sports. In fact, he wants to pitch for the St. Louis Cardinals some day. We'll see . . .

I recently read about this magazine and was so excited for my hubby. It doesn't have all the suggestive ad's that plague the other sports magazines. What a blessing for a sports fanatic! So please, count me in on the contest :)

with the sports interests of her grandkids (even though she lives in another state!). She is an avid basketball fan and already subscribes to SI. Our kids are just beginning to participate in sports and this would provide another topic they could share. Great idea!

Hey, I would love to win! My daughter is very athletic and is now playing her last sport due to being home schooled. Our county only lets you play in recreational leagues until 6th grade in all sports, but till 8th grade in soccer. She is really upset about this! Maybe this magazine could let us know more about our options for her. That would be great!

What a great idea! Down in GA, my son would have been able to join the home school football team, Georgia Force in the NE of atlanta region. Now, our only alternative in NH (since we recently moved) would be the local league that has games all over the state on Sundays. A magazine that just focuses on home school sports might help promote, organize, and mobilize the idea of home school teams? I personally would not know how to begin. The team in GA was able to find a home schooling football coach who had connections with the pro league, Georgia Force. Any progress in this direction, especially helping parents know how to help their kids find themselves in sports in high school and maybe college leagues and (scholarships?) would be great!

This is extremely exciting. I have a housefull of athletics who are either homeschooling or have graduated onto the college level. My daughter is actually playing college basketball after 12 years of homeschooloing. Athletics is so important to the overall development of a child/youth. It is exciting to see that the magazine talks about the athlete from many different angles. I hope we win.

My sons are elementary-aged homeschoolers. The third grader LOVES sports, especially football. He doesn't play with any toys - only balls! There aren't any local opportunities for him to play high school football - yet! We are praying that an opportunity will arise by then. The other day he said, "Mom, if God wants me to help his people he'll make a way for me to play football, because if I get to the NFL I'm going to give lots of money to missionaries." And he really means that. Anyways, he would love this magazine as it would be an encouragement to him. Thanks for the contest.

My son is constantly asking me if there is any homeschool stuff with sports. He lives and breathes sports. That's just who he is! I can't change it, only work with it. Hopefully this publication will be of great encouragement to him so sign us up.

Our whole family stays active in sports. Ten of our eleven children as well as my husband and I have black belts in Taekwondo. My children have played softball and baseball and soccer. They also enjoy bowling. For get-togethers they usually choose football or volleyball (afterchurch socials or family picnics). My daughter (14) and I (56) are doing ballet and I recently started Tai Chi. Our homeschool group also offers P.E. classes each fall where we do testing for the President's Physical Fitness Awards. My children have participated and I am going to teach a class this year. I have taught Taekwondo at College for Kids at our local community college as well as at our Taekwondo school. I am anxious to see your new magazine.

Our 6th grade homeschooled son absolutely loves to play baseball. My husband is coaching a travel team to give him more opportunities to play, and we would love to know more about what other homeschool families around the country are doing as well. I also love the encouragement he receives from reading about other kids who have been homeschooled and continue to play sports at a college or pro level. We would really enjoy a subscription to this magazine.

We have been convicted to pull our children out of the public school scene and begin home schooling this fall grades 6th, 4th, 2nd, and twins in K. Our oldest son is a wonderful athlete and thinks that home schooling and athletics do not go together. I would love to encourage him with such a wonderful magazine. I want him to know that the Lord's vision for our family includes our boy and that he can still go far in sports!

What a great magazine!
There really isn't much in the way of homeschool sports around here and I know my kids have a hard time fitting in when they join sports teams of public schooled kids. It is great that their is a resource that shows them the successes of homeschooled kids in sports. My 9 year old son especially, loves sports but needs the boost to show that homeschooled kids can do fabulous at sports! This would be a great contest to win for him.

We are thrilled to hear about your magazine! We are a family of 6 and all very athletic! We are currently involved in Pop Warner football, basketball, soccer, tumbling, flag football, and volleyball. We are all homeschooled. Our dad is a former college wrestler and is now a Phys. Ed. teacher and high school coach. Our mom loves to run and has competed in many events including the NYC marathon!
Your magazine sounds great! We have been curious about other homeschooled athletes out there. Keep up the great work!

Greetings,
We as a total family love sports. Our kids have been involved in organized sports from their first opportunity. We are blessed to live in a state which allows (and to some extent) encourages homeschoolers participating in interscholastic sports at the high school level. How exciting to have a publication that supports and encourages these endeavours!
As a public school teacher/coach, as well as a homeschool parent of 5, I see a huge need for this magazine. First, we need to support and unify our efforts in order to get the attention of some districts. Sports generates income and publicity for these districts and having hard working, positive, and morally strong athletes and parents involved will benefit everyone. That is the key to opening doors for our kids.
Secondly, we can learn about the people and organizations who have paved this road. By knowing our history we may remind the schools that we are still a part of the community that runs the district and not just people that are subject to the district's political desires. Though we may at times disagree with the humanistic philosphy of the public schools, sports is often a bridge builder that is used by many mission groups to reach other cultures. Believe me, after 17 years, I can tell you that the public school is definitely a different culture!
This publication adds yet another avenue to encourage and motivate and educate our homeschool community.

I did not know this magazine existed. My husband started the basketball league in our area 7 years ago because we know that a lot of homeschoolers are lost to public school just because of the desire to be in organized sports. I would love to win the subscription!
