Taming the Chaos ~ "Traveling Light" Contest ~ Week 5!

Weigh in to win!

Last week to enter!

It isn't too late! The contest continues, and you can post totals up till midnight (for you late night declutters) on August 31st. Every 50 pounds you lose earns one entry in a drawing for gift certificates to The Old Schoolhouse Store. (Complete rules here)

Darlene (keldaris) lost 75!

Laura (FoggyMountainFarm) lost 76 pounds so far!

Andrea (andijeane) lost 115!

April (ElCloud) lost 168 pounds!

Ruth 336.5 pounds (over 20 pounds in clothing! Isn't it amazing how stuff adds up!)

Misty (3boyz) lost 120 pounds already!

Maleah lost 602 pounds so far, and is threatening *wink* to lose more.

Again, please, post a "heads up" if I'm leaving you out or miscalculating your total. Weigh in by leaving a comment on this article or any of the "Traveling Light" posts from previous weeks. Posting on your own blog is great, but post here too to ensure I don't miss some pounds!

My own totals (although I'm just playing for fun and not eligible to win my own contest!):

Total before this week: 516

This week had less weight loss. I did gather a bunch of stuff awaiting another good-will run, but it doesn't count until it is donated. I lost a full 18 pounds from the boy's room closet! (It looks GREAT now!) and 13 pounds of old (old, old, old) business files from the barn. 9 pounds of other stuff from the barn, 6 pounds in books, and 8 pounds in miscellaneous clutter, brings this weeks total to 54 pounds.

My total thus far 570!

If you haven't entered already, quick find at least 50 pounds you can discard, and post! There are four more days, so keep up the losses!

40 pounds clothes
10 pounds videos, shoes, misc.
15 pounds garbage
50 pounds of old homeschool workbooks and papers (yikes!)
15 pounds of Rob's old work manuals
10 pounds children's books donated to our Back to School Bash
25 pounds old bedding, clothes, household items

Total Pounds Lost so Far: 165

Hopefully, I'll have more before Friday. This is pretty fun!

You can add an additional 68 lbs to my total. This is all misc. things I collected. Coloring books, plates, canisters, picture frames and some shoes. I think it is now 404.5. Saturday is the big yard sale and everything is ready to go.

I'll be adding everyone's totals and preparing for the drawing this weekend. (Winner announced on Tuesday!)

This past week I've added to my own total:

44 pounds of assorted stuff from the disaster closet (aka coat/craft/playroom closet). (This doesn't count the piles of goodwill stuff I'll count when it goes

18 pounds from the computer area.

To goodwill:
22 lbs books
21 lbs coats
33 pounds of "other stuff"

Goodwill total 76 pounds.

Total since last "weigh in" is an additional 138 pounds! Making my entire total this month 708. :)

It feels so good to travel light! You all did well! I'm eager to find out who gets those gift certificates!

My grand total will have to stop at 602. The couch and loveseat are *still* there! We're stuck with them I'm afraid.
