GREAT to be Home.
I guess I mean that in more than one way. It is great to be a homeschool Mom, and it's great to be back home again! A huge hug and special thanks to Belinda for covering for me a bit while I was away. I know you were all blessed by her posts. One friend said that she got to the end of one, and only then realized it wasn't me because of the name! We have a very similar philosophy of home education, or what we call by many other names such as life-schooling, unschooling, etc.
In the last month I have once again had a taste of true life-schooling and its benefits. My Mom was very ill and I was called away to help out. In the mean time, my dear husband and eldest daughter tag-teamed on the home front, keeping things afloat (very well, thank-you!) It was and continues to be one of the finest benefits of the life we have chosen to live. My Mom went to be with the Lord, and through this time of loss and change I have seen first hand the things I have already known and believed to be true about our family.
For one, I have seen how important family unity is in times of crisis.
Two, I see the fruit of our choice of family dependency, and not peer dependency.
Three, I see real life being our teacher, our lessons being every day events and learning how to deal with them.
And four, I see the growth in grace, not only in my kids, but in myself!
Who could ask for more? This is what is happening and what is working in our lives. I am blessed to be the recipient of the gift of being home.
Have an awesome week!
Nancy
