Paper Towel Fall Leaves
Here in PA the leaves are beginning to change colors . This is one of my favorite times of year. I love all the color and cool crisp air. I have a very simple project for you to do with your kids. I have found that little kids enjoy it and so do the older children. All you need is white paper towels, water color paints or food coloring and wax paper. (water colors for the lil ones or they may be green or red for weeks. ) You may also us a spray bottle to mist the leaves to give it a more blended look.

(This leaf was done by my 19 month old son)
Tear a white paper towel off of the roll. An adult may want to do this part for younger children. I like to cut more than one leaf at a time it is easier to hold. I cut an oak shape and a maple shape. Put a piece of wax paper down and lay your leaf on top. If you are using food coloring dilute the die in a cup of water. Add water depending on how dark you would like to have your colors. Some companies also carry liquid watercolor paints that would work great here too.
Gently dab the colors onto your leaf. If you want them to bleed together spary water on first and have more water on your brush or you can use an eye dropper to fill in the color. Let them dry and you have some neat leaves with an interesting new texture.
