October Blog Tip Challenge of the Month

8:30 PM, Oct. 17, 2007

As you should have read in the brand new Blogging Basics from HSB e-newsletter, that every last blogger here at HSB received, then you will know that this is the Blog Tip Challenge of the Month.

Just in case you did not come here from the newsletter I'll go over the challenge again.  Any blogger is welcome to join us.

Write a blog entry about a pencil.  Your choice, you can write anything you want about it: facts, uses, dangers, a silly story, whatever you want and any way you want.  Once you are done add your username to Mr. Linky so that all of us can read what you came up with.

I look forward to reading your posts!

If you did NOT get your HSB newsletter let me know and we'll find out why.

Tia Linschied
Senior Editor of HSB

I posted about pencils on my blog. Thanks for the challenge. I would not have thought to do that.

Thanks!

I wrote a blog about my favorite pencil in August of 2006. I have the link to it on my pencil blog challenge page! Enjoy!!!

How many pencils do you have from your past?

Thanks!

That was fun. I've had the little cartoon in the back of my head for a long time. It is inspired by a true story. If you notice all the pencils are Ticonderogas. In my mind, the best pencils ever! :)

Pencils, Handwriting, and Doodling...

I posted some articles that I had written previously on the subject of pencils... and the related topics of handwriting and doodling. P.S. Emily Rose, since you like Ticonderoga pencils, go to my blog and you can read a little about the history of the Ticonderoga Company. :-)

Thank you for the blogging tip...

I had fun with this, esp. since I was in the midst of one of those blog entries described where I wrote something, then deleted, wrote something else, etc. LOL! Changing the subject helped my brain move again. :)

I enjoyed getting the blogging tips newsletter. I think it will help with the ideas to write about.

I usually can't think of anything to write about.
We homeschool, although I enjoy reading about everyone elses homeschools, I don't think mine is that interesting.

Thanks
Darlene

Thanks for the challenge. I've actually told my pencil story several times, but I've never written it down.

Hello,
Tried to leave my comment earlier and something crazy happened to my computer or the Internet or who knows what. Go to my link and read my silly little poem based on the attitudes of my middle son and his pencil.

I KNOW the challenge was supposed to be to make an interesting entry about something no one could possibly be passionate about: a pencil. BUT... I absolutely LOVE the pencil I wrote about. I tell everyone who sees me using it all about what makes it wonderful, and I pass them out to people so they can see for themselves. I know: it's insane... I'M insane. That's ok. I love the Paper Mate Sharpwriter!

Many blessings,
Christi

I don't remember getting it!

I don't remember getting a HSB e-mail newsletter this month. I asked a little blogger friend about her pencil story and "What is a Blogging Challenge?" so she sent me this link. Perhaps I deleted an HSB e-mail without knowing it? Sometimes I'm vicious with my e-mail.
These challenges sound fun and I'd love to see next month's.

That was a fun challenge. I didn't even know they had challenges, so this is my first. It was very fun writing about pencils, and the facts that many people do not know. During my experience I have learned to truly appreciate pencils.
