Whose News at HomeschoolBlogger

6:28 PM, Nov. 10, 2005

A few days ago, I posted about what's going on at the blogs of the staff of The Old Schoolhouse.

Today I'd like to tell you what's going on with some of the bloggers at HomeschoolBlogger.com.  But before I get to them, there are a few brief announcements to keep you up to date on the latest HomeschoolBlogger.com news.

We have our 3,000th blogger!  Peanut has signed up.  Stop on over and give this young blogger a warm welcome.

An E-newsletter for special needs learnersChristine Field, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine Resource Room columnist, is doing an e-newsletter for parents with special needs children.  You can get all the details at her blog.

An E-newsletter for homesteaders.  HSB has many bloggers who are living or desire to live a homestead life style.  We've got an e-newsletter for you too!   Get all the details here.

Praising God for HSB:   Schooldaze shares a testimonial of how HSB has enriched her life in the few months she has been blogging here.  She offers some of her favorite site recommendations too!

HSB Blog Library is now open and ready for you to check out all the offerings.  You can click here or it is always listed in the top banner on the portal page

And now here's what some of you are talking about...

Fish in My Hair is new to HomeschoolBlogger.com.  She's is off to a great start!  She's been busy talking about everything from IKEA to the HSB Blog Police.  Stop by and give her a warm welcome.

Ladies in Training shares an excellent post on letting her children experience life.  I think all homeschool parents can relate to the conversations she shares.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord  shares her husband's hope to become more like Mr. Rogers.   She discovers that in many ways he already is a kindred spirit to him.  This is a wonderful tribute to her husband and a joy to read.

Serving Him at Home  When I peeked inside the blog of this lovely Christian woman her postings were as a varied as any homeschool mother.  This week she shared a wonderful menu site and a frightening story of how her son's employer was robbed.  Unfortunately, her son was there when it happened.  They are all very interesting to read.

Principled Discovery  is trying to get back on track after being sick.   She also shares a post marking the similarities between sin and yeast.  Another post explained her educational philosophy and how she "get's it all done".

Mama Bugs  This Air Force wife shares about her new "neighbors" living upstairs.   She also plugs the Home Front a blog for military families that she writes for.  Along with these two busy blogs she is also a Voice of the Martyrs Persecution Blogger.  She shares updates on the Persecuted Church and prayer requests.  It's obvious why she has so much time to blog though - she does it all from dreary Hawaii.  Poor thing.

Confessions of a Homeschool Dad This homeschooling father is willing to tackle some pretty tough issues.  This week he included a post on modesty and clothing.   This is a blog on the move.  It's nice to see the Paternal Alliance gaining some steam.

Crazies from the Crazy Ladies Virginia shares a wonderful story just in time for Thanksgiving.  It's called Sitting at the Big Table.  She is also shouting the praises of Kris Price at Graphic Heaven for redesigning her template.  I have to say it is nice!  Nice job Kris!

Through it All When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things.  And then I don't feel so bad....  And that's just what Kathy has been trying to do this week after being bitten by a dog. One of her favorite things has been the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre that her family business sells.  Go on over and cheer her up a wee bit.

Tami's Blog Prompted by PRMama, Tami picked up the book The Martha Rules by Martha Stewart.  She shares a few thoughts about the book this week.  She also blogged about her talk on multi-level teaching and modesty this week.

Prairie Primer Blog This homeschool mom has dedicated this blog to discussing her journey through the Prairie Primer with her children.   She is into week 3 and cheese making.  Sounds like she might enjoy the new e-newsletter as a supplement to her studies.

Homeschooling4Jesus is just getting started at her blog here at HSB.  She shares her schedule and also some wonderful links to some wonderful articles she has previously written.

The Cappuccino Life shares her life in the early days of mothering.  She makes the most mundane aspects of mothering so encouraging.  Here's a peek at what I'm talking about;

Alas, alack, and woe is me,

The baby's sick, and you'll agree

That vomit on the flannel bedding

Is what I'm reasonably dreading.

You won't dread visiting her blog that's for sure.  She's so fun to read and her zeal for mothering is inspiring.

~~~~~~
Well that's a long list of HSB Bloggers.  But there's always more to add.  Let us know what you're blogging about and maybe you'll be featured at the Company Couch!
Stay tuned!  One of these bloggers will become tomorrow's Featured Blogger of the Week and win the sponsor prize.
for featuring The Home Front! I was surprised to see you include my personal blog too! *blush* May I please clarify that I am NOT a blogger for VOM but merely subscribe to their newsletter and post in in order to get the word out to pray for persecuted believers! I don't want to give the wrong impression to anyone.
Thank you!
It is an honor to be listed with these other talented bloggers. I have enjoyed being a part of the community here, and I want to thank TOS for providing this place for us to be a part of one another's lives.
Have a blessed day! Tami
CONGRATS to our 3,000th blogger, Peanut!
It is hard to believe that there are that many bloggers here now! WOW!!! Thank you for the featured spot here on the Company Couch. I feel very honored and humbled. The new e-newsletter about homesteading sounds very interesting. I will have to check that out!
I am enjoying sharing about our school as we are learning more about Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family. I have always wanted to do this unit study, and I am glad we chose to do it this year.
Happy Veteran's Day to all the military men and women who have served our country made freedom possible for us.
