While blogging is a fun way to share with your family and friends not everyone on the internet needs to know everything about your life. It's a good idea to go over your blog posts and check to see what you have already blogged about.
You or a friend or family member can go over them and see if there is anything on your blog you don't want people to know about. Sometimes we inadvertently put something simple, like that picture of your house that shows the street sign.
Let us know on here by leaving a comment if you found some things that you really didn't want everyone on the World Wide Web to know about. You don't have to describe what you found, just tell us if you were surprised or if you've made any changes to make your blog safer.

Great tip, thanks, Tia!
Having friendly blog readers with watchful eyes can be a blessing too! A friend (who knew that we avoid using our last name on the blog) shot me an email once letting me know that a photo of the children's schoolwork included our last name.
thank you so much!
being somewhat new to blogging i had no idea how to go about being safe. Thanks for the blogging basics email. I went back and deleted dh's first name and the last names of all our friends that had been mentioned in older posts. I also followed some other suggestions listed in your email. Thank you so much. I didn't realize how much information I was leaving out there.
Thanks for the tips!

Thank you for the good information on how to prevent others from stealing pictures and text from a blog. I did that and now I don't have to worry that someone will steal my pictures or thoughts that I've posted. Thanks!
Thank you!
I had been thinking in the last week that I wanted to disable the right-click on my blog, so I really appreciated the link in your email for a script to do just that!
Also, I appreciated the reminder to check what I had on my blog. Before I started thinking about security, I used my children's first names frequently. So I just went back and edited all my earliest blog posts (another thing I'd been thinking I really ought to do for a while).
I did it!

I started changing posts to just include the initial of my children; and also inserted the codes Cristi suggested to protect my content! Thanks,
