Hi Tia, I'm not sure of the best place to leave you a question. I received a TOS e mail today, 4/12, about posting on blogs about The Schoolhouse Store. I'd love to but the links I have in the e mail aren't working on the templates or the entries and I'm not sure how where to put them to make them. It also says the contest is over tomorrow, 4/13 on the Front Porch but on the e mail it says 4/30.

If anyone can tell me how to host the buttons or banners I can add them to the templates on the WA State HSNs Blog and our family blog. I haven't tried my nook on HSLounge but I'm willing to try it.

Maybe I got too much sun today in this unusually HOT Pacific NW day but I've been able to add things to templates and entries previously.

Thank you, I'm not sure what the 'difference' was but I read your e mail to my comment and went back and tried again. Waa la! I have posted this promo with a button and link on Troopers For Christ, Washington State Homeschool Nations and on my nook on the HSLounge. I didn't get the icon to post on my side bars but I did in the blog spots so that's better than a few hours ago.

There's another place in the text that says April 13, 2008 so I changed it to April 30th, as well. I hope that was the correct thing to do.

My Favorite Homeschool Magazine

I love The Old Schoolhouse because the writers are real people who do the tough job of homeschooling their children. They show all methods and ways, and yet they are accessible people who are down in the trenches with their own children daily.

Homeschooling has so changed since the year I first started with my daughter. The old school uniform of the homeschooling mom in the long denim jumper is way over, (although I still have mine and it is so comfortable) I noticed at a playground at an event yesterday. Looking around I saw varied women and men in various states of dress and life. I even noticed one homeschool mom with blue nail polish which would've been a "no-no" some years back. From the young moms to the ones my age who may have a few grandchildren also, they didn't look the way the modern and liberal media normally portray us.

I am always thinking I will share my issue of The Old Schoolhouse, then find that I love the articles so much that I keep them and reread them. I especially love back issues with articles by Jenefer Igarashi, my writing hero. She tells it like it is and brings us to tears and then back to joy. There is no faking it with her and that is why her writing moves me.

I'm using my The Old Schoolhouse in teaching Shiloh today and it makes my life easier. With everything else going on, I need all the help I can get.

I have not yet subscribed to the magazine, as we will only begin our adventure in homeschooling come fall. A friend of mine, highly recommends it though! I will be attending my first homeschool conference today, and am very excited!
