If you have a blog here on HSB and you are trying to drive traffic into your blog then you should try pinging. No, you do not have to make a high pitched sound or calm yourself downping is a new term that means youre getting your blog noticed. You can drive traffic into your blog by sending pings after you post a new entry.
Pinging is easy, so you do not have to computer savvy to do it or know any special computer lingo to accomplish a successful ping. All you have to do is, after youve posted a new entry, look on your menu to the left and you will see the link that says Send Pings. Click that link and youll see youre weblog title, link and then a series of 4 checkboxes with the names of ping servers listed. You can send pings to all 4 sites or as many as you choose but if you send them to all 4 then youre more likely to get noticed. When youve decided which ping servers youd like to chose then just click the button Send Pings. After you have clicked the button, you might have to wait a few moments in order to see your results but you will then be taken to a page that will tell you if your ping was successful. If it was received by a particular server you can visit that site to see your weblog listed on their main page. This will get your blog noticed and draw traffic in to read your entries.
