It's a big world out there and you never know who you are going to meet. Especially here on HSB. There are bloggers from all over God's great earth here!
This week click on over and say hello to deedeeuk. She's doing things Anglo/American Style. She's an American mom living in the United Kingdom because she's married to her British husband. I suppose she also lives there because that's where he works and they like it too!
So what does an American mom do on Mother's Day while living in the UK? (They don't celebrate it over there you know.) One's thing for sure, the restaurants are not crowded! Even 4th of July celebrations are special and DeeDee shares her most memorable.
How many of you have wondered about teatime in the UK? All right I've never really spent hours pondering about it but it has interested me to think about people eating dinner around 9 p.m. or so. Elevensies is something my son thinks we should have hear in the U.S.
So go say 'ello do Deedee. I know she'll enjoy meeting all of you!
I just thought I'd let you know that they do celebrate Mother's Day in England. It's called Mothering Sunday and it's in March. My mom is British.
One thing to note though, the Brits in general don't make as big of a deal of holidays as we do. Things aren't as commercialized-at least that has been my experience.
Blessings,
Sandpiper
Sounds like a great blogger- I'm headed over to say 'ello and read some of her posts! It is certainly a fun way to learn how things are done in other parts of the world.
Thanks for introducing us! :)

We Brits do celebrate Mother's Day - just at a different time of the year!
We don't seem to have as many "Holidays" as you do in the US, but those we do have are becoming more commercialised every year!
Congrats DeeDee! You're a great friend!
