
With a little planning, clutter becomes art. The farm relics pictured above were once in grandpa's barn; Now they grace my parents' family-room wall. A "barnwood" frame (made of fence slats) showcases and unifies the collection.
Boat oars, tennis rackets, baseball bats, kites, and plates and dishes can serve double duty decorating. They break the monotony of matted prints, add interest, personalize your space, and elevate treasures to where they can be enjoyed instead of just junking up drawers or closets. Even jewelry can become wall decor.
