Have you heard the news? We are having a carnival. A blog carnival! A homeschooling blog carnival!
What is a blog carnival? It is a place (blog) where posts that are submitted to the host on one particular topic are all linked in one place. Every week, the carnival moves to a different blog, but the general topic remains the same. A homeschooling blog carnival will bring together posts from homeschooling blogs all around the blogosphere one day every week.
Henry Cate from Why Homeschool has been working hard to organize the first homeschooling blog carnival, and information on participating is now available at Why Homeschool, host for the first week.
To learn more about blog carnivals and how to submit a post, be sure to visit Henry Cates blog right away. The deadline for submitting a post for the first week of the carnival is January 2nd.
HomeschoolBlogger Company Porch will be hosting the second week of the carnival, and we will be accepting submissions beginning next week.
Be sure to check the Company Porch throughout the week, or email Patricia Hunter (phunter@thehomeeschoolmagazine.com) for more information.

Here is something I stumbled across that looks like fun. It is "Thursday Thirteen." Every Thursday, you post a list of thirteen things (about you or your week or whatever.) There is a blogroll to insert in your sidebar to check others' lists, as well. I have the blogroll set up in my sidebar, and will do my first list Thursday. More info is available here: http://intricateart.com/blog/thursday-thirteen-blogroll/
If anyone is interested, I thought it would be fun to start one with lesson plan ideas...let me know, and I'll wade through the html code : )
