Join us on the Front Porch & get the Featured button!

We're throwing out the welcome mat and setting out some extra chairs here on the Company Porch! We want you all to stop by each day to check out our daily topics and to chat a while. If you've ever longed for a neighborhood where neighbors took the time to sit together on the front porch and visit, we want our community at HomeschoolBlogger to be that neighborhood for you.

On Mondays we'll discuss homemaking.
Tuesdays will be homeschool tips.
Wednesday will be our day of whimsey - featuring funnies and asking for a funny story from your family.
Thursday will be our chance for you to share your thoughts! Share your prayer request, wonderful news for your family, tell us about something wonderful your kid did, or something fun that's going on in your homeschool group. We just want to hear about YOU!
Then Friday will be our usual Blogger of the Week & Featured Random Blogger.

So to thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment, we are going to give the first five commenters Monday - Thursday the official *I've been featured on the Company Porch* button!

Homemaking Day

DS made home made chocolate pudding, it took three tries but was a great excersize in reading, following instructions and trust. The only thing that was a little stressing was that I have only THE BEST in chocolate and he used three bars of SharfenBerger to get the pudding right. Oh how this is the true test of teaching for me, letting someone go free in my kitchen!!! What a task, because I adore my kitchen, I am a culinary student in baking and pastry and when I step into that world, well, you know, it can get a little controlling. That is where they get the comment "more than one chef in the kitchen". Really though, I let him make the mistakes, do again, make mistakes and learn...it was a great morning and he did fine, btw I cleaned up for him. There are two bowls of super salty chocolate pudding on the counter...any want it? (1/4 cup of salt instead of 1/4 tsp.) ooops!

Decluttering on Homemaking Day

This is a good day for a homemaking post, then, since it is Monday! I just finished writing a blog about decluttering my house. It somehow got cluttered up in just the two years since we moved here! I have a goal of working for 21 days toward a decluttered house (you can see more on my blog), and invite anyone to join me.

I'm so glad you said homemaking and not house keeping. I wouldn't keep my house if you paid me. I'd much rather spend my time making this old place a home for my dear family.
