With Father's Day approaching I asked my husband for a "Dad's eye view" of the benefits of an organized home.
Here's his "top five":
-
Safety and Sanity: It is so much better than tripping over toys.
-
Economy: We save money by being good stewards; In disorganization things get lost and broken.
-
Consistency and Uniformity: It's nice to know what I'll find when I get home. (This is probably his number 1)
-
Relaxation: Life is less stressful without scrambling. A routine "a place for everything" makes it easier
-
Flexibility: We can get children ready for an outing or the house ready for guests without a mad rush.
I then bravely inquired whether he sees more positives or negatives--is it worth sometimes having something "organized" right out from under him? His answer was a resounding, "Yes."
