This week's theme on the Porch is about Fall, and today I "fell" into a blog that is so encouraging and speaks the truth in love. MrsE from Living Sacrifice tells it like it is, like so many of us need to hear.
Now I haven't read all of her posts, so I can't tell you that I agree with everything she says, but I will say this, she only wants us to think deeper, think beyond ourselves, and encourage us to follow Christ, all the way. You don't have to agree with her, just stop and ask yourself, "Have I ever looked at it like this?" So if any of her posts cause you concern, then be sure to talk about it with Mrs. E. Pray about it. Talk to your spouse about it. Not necessarily in that order.
I'm going to start by sharing this post Swashbuckling Sans Pirates. Mrs. E certainly caused me to stop and think and I'm a fairly careful/mindful parent, or so I thought.
Here is something I've been struggling with lately, my son won't sit still and do his schoolwork. Hey, not a big surprise from moms of boys! Yet, I have been trying to figure out when is it good to make him sit and when is it good to let him go? Perhaps you have to. Then this post may help you, Real Men Don't Do Workbooks.
What were your thoughts about the movie Fireproof? No, this isn't a review, and Mrs. E isn't giving one either, although we both agree that we liked it, but what didn't it cover? How many of you saw it as only a beginning and not an end? Fireproof: the Sequel, now just what would that look like?
Before you go and visit Mrs. E get a warm drink. You're going to be there for awhile.
