All are invited to view "Beyond The Gates" at Harvest Community Church, 6612 S Howell Ave, Oak Creek on Jan 30th at 1 PM -2 PM.
This is a documentary movie, which retells the story of the Waodani Tribe in Ecuador and the missionaries who were martyred bringing the Gospel to them in the 1950’s. It is a thrilling story of the power of the Gospel to change individual lives as well as whole civilizations. Come and see this documentary from which the full-length feature film, End of the Spear, was created.
The shows is free! It is edited so it is for the whole family!
My family saw this documentary twice so far and look forward to seeing again. It made me cry and laugh and I had read several book about these men but I still was so moved when I heard and saw the missionary wives tell their own stories as well as their children's versions. In addition to these personal testimonies from the families is the home videos and personal testimonies from the tribe these missionaries were trying to reach. Who would ever believe a strong bond could exist between the son of the murdered man and the man that murdered him.
You have to see it to really get the whole impact. Steve Saint, the son of the martryed pilot Nate Saint narates this documentary.
Don't miss this. You welcome to invite anyone you want to this hour - this is not just for home school families.
This event is being held on our enrichment club day so if you attend, come right into the sanctuary (on your left).
Introducing... Beyond The Wardrobe
An online 20-Lesson study of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
Coming December 9th as a major motion picture from Walt Disney and Walden Media
Beyond The Wardrobe is a study of the book (and movie) The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. Each lesson covers one chapter in the book and includes an overview as well as questions and comments for consideration. There are several optional multiple-choice quizzes that are automatically scored and entered in a student "grade book". Answer keys are provided to group leaders.
Every student receives a Username and password for our secure and private online system, a free email newsletter subscription about Narnia and learning online, a customized online "Homeroom", free access to an online library holding about 5000 volumes, a monitored chat social center and many other features.
Beyond The Wardrobe has been created with the intent that it be relevant, engaging and true to the writings of C. S. Lewis. The entire learning environment is provided at no cost because it is funded by our sponsor. The study has been created to be used by a large range of ages from younger teens through older adults.
Journey Beyond the Wardrobe together with thousands of like-minded "students of all ages" throughout the United States and the rest of the world. This 20-lesson course can be taken at any time and any pace. All you need is an internet connection and a copy of the book (books are available at your local library, Christian Book Store or any online book vendor).
GROUPS - Church Youth Groups, Study Groups, Homeschooling Cooperatives, Private, Parochial and Christian Schools. Any organization! You can freely register your group and then enroll as many "students" as you wish under your group.
Now even if your local PBS television affiliate doesn't broadcast them, you can bring Mark Kistler's shows into your own home. If you have a broadband internet connection you and your children can enjoy one of Mark's shows on your computer. This 28 minute video will have your kids drawing billions of jiggling jellyfish with the Cousteau of creativity himself (well, at least that's what mine did.)
Until other shows are available, check out the "more episodes coming soon" for links to the KidsArt Masters' Gallery for awesome art history pieces. An original art work is shown (Cassatt, Rembrandt, Rodin, Degas, and many more) and Mark's dialogue is written out, giving you background on the artist, the medium, the history, and other comments. It's a great way for kids to learn really cool facts and more about art.
You can use the link below or you can access it from the Draw3D website by clicking on "Download Video Drawing Lessons." Help Mark on his mission to teach the whole planet to draw! Go ahead and forward the link to everyone you know.

"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."
