Wisconsin Homeschool Law

Posted in Wisconsin HS

What are the requirements for homeschooling in Wisconsin? The main requirements are:
  • Provide at least 875 hours of instruction each school year.
  • Provide sequential progressive curriculum for the required subjects of Reading, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science and Health.
  • Submit form PI-1206 to the Department of Education informing the state of your intentions to homeschool to meet the required compulsory attendance law by October 15.
More information regarding the homeschool laws and requirements can be found at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

You may also find more information and become a member of the Homeschool Legal Defense Association.

CHEA web site updated / Spring Conference registration

Posted in Wisconsin HS

Hello, Home Schoolers:
I am writing to announce that Wisconsin CHEA's website has been totally redone. There is much more information on there now, and we believe you will like what you see.

Also, the spring conference registration form is up there now (full brochure sometime in February), so if you want that great place in line at the Used Book Sale, we are NOW taking registrations for spring conference.

Some of the areas ask for input, so if there are any "budding authors" out there, or speakers for the fall event, or sport team information, please take part and contact us. You will find this information in different parts of the website.

    The address is still www.wisconsinchea.com.

Please spread the word!!
We are excited about the new look and content!
We hope you will agree!

Feel free to email me with your input.

Thank you so much.

Deuteronomy 6:6-8
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."
