3 Girls And A Mom (and Dad and puppy dog too!)

• Feb. 23, 2007
Today is Mom/Dad's FIFTIETH anniversary.

It's so.... wild to me that they've been married so long. It's hard to believe that Dad is going to be 76 in July. Mom is going to be 75 in June.

They were so sweet on Sunday at their Open House party. I can't tell you how precious it was and I just felt such love from the whole family that it was overwhelming.

I called Mom this afternoon and as we were chatting... they had flowers delivered to their home. So sweet. A friend of the family sent them. I mailed the DVD of their party pictures set to music so they'll get it tomorrow I imagine.

They're slowing down but yet they are still quite active. They enjoy their pontoon boat and fishing boat rides. It scares me some b/c Dad's judgement is not always too keen. Last Fall they went shadding. (rope with special net behind the boat to catch shad which are bigger than minnows and used for bait) The net got caught up on something and they couldn't get it out of the lake. Dad wanted to go get his swim trunks on and get IN the lake water to try to get the shad net. It was like 50 or maybe 60 degrees but his plan was to take a shower as soon as they got back to shore. (from being wet in the water) Mom talked him out of it. Those types of things freak me out. It's so not worth it to put himself in harms' way. KWIM?

I just want to protect them. I get worried.

It's odd b/c they're my parents and they're the ones in authority over me but.... well... it's just a new weirdness.

I'm SO rambling.

If anyone actually read this.... you're an angel. I am not sure what my point was other than I've just really got my parent's on my mind a ton lately.

Check out this pic from a few years ago.

How sweet~50 years~what a legacy!

What an incredible legacy your parents have given you, in showing you that marriage can be a lasting thing, a beautiful thing!

What a great picture of them too. They look very active for their age. That's probably what keeps them young.

May the Lord bless us as He has blessed them.

Your parent's

Your parent's look delightful! I am also in those worrying about my folks years. It seems that just a month after their 50th everyone's health starting having problems. THey couldn't go onthe cruise we got for them, and then they both had heart problems ever since. My dad actually had stints and a pacemaker and defibrillator put in. Yes, they still are hornery...My dad mowed the lawn by himself the day before Thanksgiving and tried to rake the leaves which sent him into angina pain attacks and made him out of it all Thanksgiving day. We all had planned to come over early to rake and mow on thanksgiving! They amaze me and yet I am so thankful they are still with us. Be blessed and enjoy them!
