WOW! I am trying to get caught up and I have way too many links to add. I haven't even looked at all the great clippings I've collected (many with yet more links) from the Wall Street Journal yet. Here are just a few. I simply can't share them all here- I'm sorry. However, I am trying a a new free service that will allow you to click on the link to the right and see what's new. My site gets "spidered" on Monday. Some of the new additions may not show up until next week so be sure to check back. Of course, if you have lots of time on your hands, you can visit the websites and see if you can figure out what's new.
I've added a LOT of links on the homeschooling page. There are new links in Social Studies, Math, Free or Low Cost...
New links include a Kids Cooking freebie, interactive history time line freebies, just an amazing amount of stuff. I was able to find a lot of these links at Home Education Magazine's website. It's definitely worth taking a look if you've not visited before. Of course, I also found quite a few at The Old Schoolhouse- always a helpful source for us homeschoolers.
February 26th through March 2nd is Solar Week, submit questions to ask the scientist and participate in other interactive activities.
Valentine's for Veterans Sorry I'm late in getting this posted for this year. But it's not too late for your chlid to drop off Valentines or just a friendly greeting card for a local veteran! February 11th through 17th is National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week.

Classical Music Archives Check out this site! It costs $ to have unlimited access but you can get up to 5 files a day with a free registration.
Ok, this is one for the big kids- StoryMan, it's like hangman with book titles. But, I don't think you can screen out titles you might not want your kids to see. So, I'd just play this one with your older ones, or save it for yourself.

Here are some links to information that really doesn't fit on the website, but are worth checking out nonetheless:
First check out the Company Blog right here at Homeschoolblogger. Your child can enter a poetry contest, or you can download free math worksheets or get a free e-book from the Sponsors of the Week.
Next, there are other contests to be entered like this one for the Young Naturalists Award.
Read about the upcoming Beargrease dogsled race. Or pop Bubble Wrap for fun. While you're visiting the Sealed Air Bubble Wrap site, check out this year's Young Inventor contest winner and maybe inspire your own child.
Also, just in time for Presidents' Day, the U.S. Mint is releasing the first of a series of $1 coins featuring the past Presidents.
Finally, Thy Word Network is one of the links available on my "Links of Interest" page but I don't think I've raved about them quite enough. I am listening to "through the night" via the webcast right now and it is SO uplifting. (If you've been paying attention, you'll probably guess why I'm awake- I get insomnia when there's a baby on the way!) Give the webcast a listen if you don't have a local station, I hope you enjoy listening to the network as much as I do.

Well friends, that's about 1/3 of the links that I have to add. I still have lots of freebies for the shopping page but they will just have to wait until another time. You can find out most of the freebies yourself by joining the Frugal_Moms Yahoo group. One of ladies there is a freebie finding wonder.
Just an FYI, I added the National Geographic Kids' page to the games section today along with a link in case you want to order the magazine. (I am an affiliate for the NG store.) My parents are currently getting National Geographic for themselves, which means I get to read it when they are finished and I've really enjoyed it. My mom also ordered two different kids' magazines for my children through some special offer. Ours haven't arrived yet but hopefully will be coming soon. So if you are thinking about ordering and want a review first, give me a few more weeks and I'll get you one. I am really looking forward to seeing these new magazines. We've received Zoobooks, LadyBug, BabyBug and others in the past and have enjoyed them all. We get copies of Ranger Rick from my sister when she's finished with them too! (As you may have guessed, I do love the written word. LOL!)
Remember- Give thanks to God in ALL circumstances, for He is good!
