I've come accross two very special passages in my reading lately. The first is an excerpt from the Diary of St. Faustina: Divine Mercy in my Soul. The seconed is a prayer by Mother Theresa I found in a book called A Simple Path. I don't quite know how to articulate my thoughts on these things, but I thought I might as well post them, even though I can't think of anything to say. I'll let you form your own opinions, because they are extremely profound.
"Let simplicity and humility be the characteristic traits of your soul. Go through life like a little child, always trusting, always full of simplicity and humility, content with everything, happy in every circumstance. There, where others fear, you will pass calmly along, thanks to this simplicity and humility. Remember this, Sister, for your whole life: as waters flow from the mountains down into the valleys, so, too, do God's graces flow only into humble souls."
~#55 Diary of Saint Faustina
"Deliver me, O Jesus,
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,
From the desire of being popular,
From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being suspected."
