Apr. 3, 2009 - One step forward, three steps back....
We heard yesterday afternoon that the childrens welfare bill was passed by the legislature. This contained new laws for adoptions. However, the President wants to take the adoption part out of the bill and establish a completely separate bill that would be reintroduced to the legislature that would establish a central authority for adoptions.
I know this is good. However, I am so disappointed that this means more time of waiting for a new bill to be written and then, hopefully, voted through the legislature, then this new gov't agency established and then, hopefully, adoptions can begin again.
So much more time.
There are times that God's peace overwhelms me through this adoption that never seems to end. At this moment, I feel overwhelmed by the continued wait. If it's not one thing, it's another. We want our girls home!!
We are grateful that our girls are being well-taken care of, but it is no substitute for a loving family and my heart is pained to think of them in that orphanage growing up and spending their very precious formative years of their life without parents to help shape them, love them and take care of their needs.
I'm done with my complaints and pity party. Sorry you had to participate.
So onward we wait....
