Christmas Tradition V - Nativity
Posted in Holiday Traditions
One of the more fun Christmas traditions that we've started with our family is when we set up our nativity, the wise men and the babe are not placed in it.
The wise men wonder aimlessly around our home. I say aimlessly because I place them randamly around the house. One day they'll be on a counter, the next day they'll be on the top of the stairs, on another day they'll be next to the fish tank wondering what it was like crossing the Red Sea. You get the gist?
The kids love searching the house to see where the wise men are. On Christmas morning they are not in the manger scene, but they are close.
Baby Jesus appears on Christmas morning. Honestly, He gets put there the night before so mom and dad can sleep in, in the morning. The kids love waking up in the morning to see that the royal babe is there.

What a great idea! Just this year while my 6 year old set up the nativity I told him to set the Wise Men to the side because they did not see Jesus until 3 years. later. You have a cute idea having them wander around the house!

Hello,
I found your blog while searching for Christian homeschooling blogs. I wanted to let you know of an oppertunity to let the world know that we appreciate homeschool education, as well as being a light for Christ! In the 2006 weblog awards, homeschooling blog Spunkyhomeschool(http://www.spunkyhomeschool.blogspot.com/) is currently running in third place for "Best Educational Blog". SpunkyHomeschool is the only homeschooling blog in this category, and the only Christian blog with even a possibility of winning! You can vote at this link (http://2006.weblogawards.org/2006/12/best_educational_blog.php) once every 24 hours until December 15th.
I appreciate your consideration of voting for homeschooling! This is not a united campaign effort; I am simply doing what I personally can to spread the news. Thank you for your time.

As you can see, I still can't log in. Yes, I'm having a ball with the update to the site. No, I'm not serious.
Squid don't have legs??? That's all I could think of - slimy legs. Maybe I was thinking of the wrong creature. I try not to think of such things at all, actually.

You are such a great Mommy Dianna ;-) What a very creative idea to hide the wisemen. You always amaze me with your witty ideas.
