Treats for the taking

Yesterday, I would often look downstairs and see our dog, Starbuck, eating something at the bottom of the stairs. Since he likes to grab a mouthful of food, then take it near the stairs to eat I figured he was eating his dog food. I was wrong.

This morning I come downstairs and notice that he was eating a dog treat. Puzzled, I stood nearby so that I could watch him. The silly dog went into the pantry, stuck his nose in the dog treat bag and pulled out 2 dog bones! I approached him while he was chewing and I tell ya, this dog was in treat heaven! He looked up at me and just started hopping around and wagging his tail like it was going to fall off. Oh, it was a hoot!

I had to, sadly, move the treat bag in the pantry to a more 'safe' place. I guess he figured since the kids go in there all the time to grab a snack, why couldn't he?

That is so adorable!! Our dog also gets a mouthful of food and carries it some place else to eat it. I have never heard of a dog doing that before we got her. And your dog is the first one other then her I've ever heard of doing it. Now I don't think she's so weird. heeheeheehee

Too funny! This is one of the reasons that my dogs are outside dogs...I have enough trouble with my toddler wandering off with food, and if the dogs were in here Lucas would have accomplices. LOL
