My middle son, Peanut, has a Tactile/Kinesthetic learning style. Recently, I started teaching him phonics using Alpha Phonics. The first few days he just wasn't getting it. As a result, I went out and bought a magnetic dry erase board and magnetic letters. Now that my son is doing his Alpha Phonics lessons on the board, he has been soaring! He is able to touch, feel and move around the letters. He can also write the letters and words on the board. He gets proud when he can read his new words to Daddy every night.
Speaking of my son, whom has to touch everything (looking at yarn is totally fun when he is along!), broke his left arm right above his elbow and now has to be in a cast for 6 weeks.
