The days go by fast when your having fun!
Last week I led a rockhounding field trip. The kids found some nice pieces of Quartz. The children also found a lizzard. As quick as some of the kids were, the lizzard was quicker! He excaped some petting. Can you see the lizzard?
Over the weekend we helped the Gold Prospector's of Colorado by teaching gold panning at the 59th annual Burro Days in Fairplay, Colorado. When I help out, by nature I am drawn to helping the children learn how to pan. Gold is in them thar trough's... but so are sharks teeth, amethysts, topaz, turquoise, copper and other goodies. It was fun seeing the kids fill up their vials with other goodies besides the gold.
