It's nice to be back... for a few days anyways! This is a busy time of year. (July - Aug)
We spent Fri-Sun in Breckenridge, Co to help out at the Colorado State Gold Panning Championships. Oh, what a blast we all had!
I worked hard!
Lost three pounds! (Walking back and forth from the Condo to Main Street. Shewwweeeeee!!!! (Condo was near ski slopes.)
I have a gorgeous "prospectors tan" (farmers tan) (I've been working on it the past two months... but wow... I haven't been this dark in years! LOL
We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 3 bath Condo that was provided to us at no charge by the town. It was nice to relax there after a hard days work!
For the first time I watched the Food network!!! Wow! I could get hooked easy! Praise the Lord we don't have cable! LOL
I even competed! I competed in the Team Competitions. My team placed 4th place.
I also competed in the Women's State and "technically" placed 4th, but due to 1st and 3rd being tied I ended up being 6th (12 total competitors).I did very well for not competing in over 16 years, I didn't even practice! I even came home with more gold!
Three of my children also competed in the Jr competitions. They all got pans, pipettes, a vial and small copper pans.
Below: That's me!
I got fried! My face is red!! ( I forgot my hat!)
That is me competing in the team competitions for speed panning. Speed panning - you are given a pan filled with dirt and with 8 large gold nuggets. You have to pan all 8 of them out with the quickest speed. You then place the nuggets in a vial, close the lid and shout, "Gold!"
My time was 42.38 seconds! Not bad at all for not competing in 16 years!
(I was putting ALL 8 of the nuggets into the vial.)
