I "think" I have found the secret to getting a child to eat at least ONE brussel sprout!
Dinner time: When Daddy is at work at his PT job the kids and I have simple dinners.
The food: I made the kids chicken, corn and chocolate pudding for dessert.
I made myself spinach raviolli and brussel spouts. I like brussel sprouts with butter once in a HUGE while when I crave them.
I put a small brussel sprout on each of my childrens plate. (I think children and adults should try things.) My 2yo and 4yo ate them just fine, but the looks on their faces conveyed apprehension. I think they were grateful that there were not anymore of those green balls on their plates!
As I was getting myself some milk my 7yo daughter says, "Mom, these green things taste good in bar-b-que sauce!"
My thoughts... Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww!
So I then encouraged her with, "Great! I'm glad you like it that way! Would you like some more?" hehehhehheheheh
Her response, "No!"
Then my 9yo son says, "Hey mom, these taste good with ketchup!"
Again.... Eeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!
"Great son! Would you like some more?"
Again.. "No!"
I'm just thankful they tried them.
