Posted in I Love My Husband
I know... romantical isn't really a word... but I like saying it!
Like this: In the most sweetest, bragging voice you say, "My hunky husband is soooooooo romantical!"
See, doesn't that sound neat?
My romantical hunky husband took me out, overnight even, for our Thirteenth wedding Aniversay.
He took me to one of Colorado's most "Romantic Inns" for a "Romantic Escape."
http://www.thecliffhouse.com He tried to get us a 'celebrity suite' but they were all taken when he made reservations a month or so ago, however they did give us one of the bigger deluxe suites. (He took me there on our 9 yr. anniv. and we stayed in the Jenny Lind Suite).
Even though I am an "Al Fresco" type women, it sure is nice to be treated like a Queen once in a while! (Well, to have other people treat me like a Queen anyway... my hunky hubby treats me like a Queen all the time. He is such a hunky King!!)
We pull up to The Cliff House and my wonderful hubby opens the car door for me. The valet gets our luggage and takes us in to check in. He takes us to our room, gave us a tour of the room, then leaves. Oh what a lovely victorian room! The King size bed was perfect for my King and I and upon it layed a single white rose, mints and a "Congratulations on you Anniversay" on it. (I moved the rose to protect our last name.)
Our bottle of wine from South Africa, which I could not partake of because I am expecting was in the little mini-fridge underneath the white marble sinks.
Next to the wine glasses on the table were the most delectable strawberries which taste even better when shared with hunky hubby!
Aren't these the neatest strawberry tuxes?
By the time hubby and I got ourselves all comfy and ready for dinner. The dining room called to let us know we could come down early. So, we did.. we were hungry!
Appitizer: We shared the Sweet potato raviolli topped with some sauce and macadamia nut. Oh, was it delicious!
Salads: Hubby had the House salad and I had the warm spinach salad.
Main Course: Hubby had the Buffalo Wellington and I had the Salmon Oscar. They were both wonderful!
We had a waitress and a waiter who where both fantastic. I tell ya, there is nothing like fine dining. We also had a sommelier who occasionally served hubby. The whole dining area was somewhat reserved, but hubby and I were laughing and having a wonderful time and of course, the staff likes that. My hubby couldn't eat all of his Buffalo so he asked the sommelier, who offered to take his plate, if he could take it with him.. a 'doggie bag' and it would have to fit in our rooms fridge. The sommelier said jokingly, "Sure, I can even wrap it in a aluminum swan if you like." My husband said it didn't have to be a swan... just something that would fit in the fridge. I then piped up and said, "Well, an aluminum swan would be quite fun to see!"
Shortly after the sommelier came walking out with a huge smile on his face and placed the 'swan' on our table. We all laughed and I did a little 'hercules' clap and said "Wonderful!"
For dessert we split a banana something or other. (I don't remember the name)
It was Tempura fried bananas, with a butterscotch type of ice cream. Also on the side of the plate was written in chocolate, "Happy Anniversay". It was a wonderful touch to the dessert! I would of taken a picture, but I didn't take the camera with me.
We got back to our room and noticed that someone had been there because we turned off all the lights when we left.
While we were dining all the curtains in our room were shut, floor mats with "Good night" were place on each side of the bed. The bed sheets where pulled down on the corners and a night light in the bathroom was turned on. What a nice touch! They treat you wonderfully there!
My romanical hubby drew me a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub for two which was in a white marble bathroom. My hubby put to many bubbles in there because they almost went over the tub! It was quite fun!
It was an unforgettable, much needed getaway!
I have the best romantical hunky hubby in the world!!
