Homecoming!!

Posted in I Love My Husband

I am counting down the hours now! My husband has been away for training with his new job for three weeks. Three very long weeks! The kids and I managed to keep ourselves busy, but it wasn't the same without my beloved. This last week of him away was the hardest!  The kids and I were getting restless and even the dog would sit at the back gate, waiting and whining for his bud in the evenings about the time he usually comes home from work.

Presently he is on the aiplane, on his way! Oooooooh, I'm anxious and excited!

I can hardly wait to pick him up at the airport tonight! The kids and I have been fervently getting the home ready for his arrival. We have a welcome home sign and streamers strung.

We are also expecting another snowy weekend. This will make it 6 weekends in a row to snow. I'm in heaven! ('er well... a lovely, snowy earthly heaven.)

Farewell, my friend

Posted in I Love My Husband

Time to say farewell to my old dinosaur of a digital camera! (From the late 90s)

I have wanted to take a picture of this thing for a long time!

Last night, my awesome, wonderful, fantabulous husband came home with my early CHRISTmas gift. He couldn't wait until CHRISTmas to give it to me.

I am now the proud owner of a new digital camera.

I can post all sorts of fun pictures now! Yahoo!

Farewell, my friend. We took great pictures together.

Change is....

Posted in I Love My Husband

Change...

Change is all around.

Change is that my husband started a new job yesterday.

Change is getting used to his new schedule.

Change is now having him home in the evenings. (Yahooooo!)

Change is getting up early in the mornings.

Change is getting our learning done in the mornings rather than in the afternoon.

Change is enjoying this new change!

Change is enjoying cooking dinners that my husband can enjoy again.

Change is eating those dinners at the table with him.

Change is having more time with my hubby in the evenings. (Yahooooo!)

Change is being able to get out once in a while with my friends in the evening.

Change is having a bit extra each month.

Thank You, Lord for our newest change!!

April 15th is Husband Appreciation Day!!

Posted in I Love My Husband

Today, April 15th is Husband Appreciation Day. Please join me today in 'bragging' about our husbands. To join, please leave a comment on my blog and brag about your husband, or brag about  your husband on your blog and then leave the link to your brag here on my blog.

Remember NOTHING negative!!! This is a time to boast, esteem and be thankful for our husbands. (I will be back online April 20th to read all your boasts.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am so thankful that the Lord has put my husband and I together. The Lord made my husband just for me and that thought alone is one in which puts joy and praise in my heart.
My husband loves Jesus.
He keeps me warm at night.
He makes me laugh.
He is a wonderful father! He even changes diapers and wipes runny noses.
He helps around the house and cleans some of the things I cannot.
He is strong.
He makes the BEST hot dogs and mac and cheese.
He is great at fixing things around the home.
He works hard so that I can be home with the children.
He is very organized.
He is creative.
He has integrity.
He spoils me.
He gives me wonderful, relaxing back massages.
He makes my life complete.
Lord, I am so thankful for my husband. I ask that you continue to guide Him and teach Him Your ways. Give him favor wherever he goes. Bless his footsteps, lead his thoughts and give grace to his tongue. Please continue to bless what he puts his hands to. Thank You, Lord.
He's sooooo romantical!! (some pictures)
Posted in I Love My Husband
I know... romantical isn't really a word... but I like saying it!
Like this: In the most sweetest, bragging voice you say, "My hunky husband is soooooooo romantical!"
See, doesn't that sound neat?
My romantical hunky husband took me out, overnight even, for our Thirteenth wedding Aniversay.
He took me to one of Colorado's most "Romantic Inns" for a "Romantic Escape."
http://www.thecliffhouse.com  He tried to get us a 'celebrity suite' but they were all taken when he made reservations a month or so ago, however they did give us one of the bigger deluxe suites. (He took me there on our 9 yr. anniv. and we stayed in the Jenny Lind Suite).
Even though I am an "Al Fresco" type women, it sure is nice to be treated like a Queen once in a while! (Well, to have other people treat me like a Queen anyway... my hunky hubby treats me like a Queen all the time. He is such a hunky King!!)
We pull up to The Cliff House and my wonderful hubby opens the car door for me. The valet gets our luggage and takes us in to check in. He takes us to our room, gave us a tour of the room, then leaves. Oh what a lovely victorian room! The King size bed was perfect for my King and I and upon it layed a single white rose, mints and a "Congratulations on you Anniversay" on it. (I moved the rose to protect our last name.)
Our bottle of wine from South Africa, which I could not partake of because I am expecting was in the little mini-fridge underneath the white marble sinks.
Next to the wine glasses on the table were the most delectable strawberries which taste even better when shared with hunky hubby!
Aren't these the neatest strawberry tuxes?
By the time hubby and I got ourselves all comfy and ready for dinner. The dining room called to let us know we could come down early. So, we did.. we were hungry!
Appitizer: We shared the Sweet potato raviolli topped with some sauce and macadamia nut. Oh, was it delicious!
Salads: Hubby had the House salad and I had the warm spinach salad.
Main Course: Hubby had the Buffalo Wellington and I had the Salmon Oscar. They were both wonderful!
We had a waitress and a waiter who where both fantastic. I tell ya, there is nothing like fine dining. We also had a  sommelier who occasionally served hubby. The whole dining area was somewhat reserved, but hubby and I were laughing and having a wonderful time and of course, the staff likes that. My hubby couldn't eat all of his Buffalo so he asked the sommelier, who offered to take his plate, if he could take it with him.. a 'doggie bag' and it would have to fit in our rooms fridge. The sommelier said jokingly, "Sure, I can even wrap it in a aluminum swan if you like." My husband said it didn't have to be a swan... just something that would fit in the fridge. I then piped up and said, "Well, an aluminum swan would be quite fun to see!"
Shortly after the sommelier came walking out with a huge smile on his face and placed the 'swan' on our table. We all laughed and I did a little 'hercules' clap and said "Wonderful!"
For dessert we split a banana something or other. (I don't remember the name)
It was Tempura fried bananas, with a butterscotch type of ice cream. Also on the side of the plate was written in chocolate, "Happy Anniversay". It was a wonderful touch to the dessert! I would of taken a picture, but I didn't take the camera with me.
We got back to our room and noticed that someone had been there because we turned off all the lights when we left.
While we were dining all the curtains in our room were shut, floor mats with "Good night" were place on each side of the bed. The bed sheets where pulled down on the corners and a night light in the bathroom was turned on. What a nice touch! They treat you wonderfully there!
My romanical hubby drew me a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub for two which was in a white marble bathroom. My hubby put to many bubbles in there because they almost went over the tub! It was quite fun!
It was an unforgettable, much needed getaway!
I have the best romantical hunky hubby in the world!!
My hubby did it again!!
Posted in I Love My Husband
My romantical hubby did it again!!!
He planned our wedding anniversary again!  I LOVE it when he does this. Our 13th wedding anniversary is comming up in March and he's already gotten a babysitter (over night) and he's made reservations for one of the most fabulous romantic Inns. He took me to the same place 9 years ago and I felt like a queen! He had reserved a "Premier Celebrity Suite". There was music playing in the room when we walked in. Chocolate covered strawberries, 9 red roses, chocolate mints on the bed. The bathroom was all marble... jacuzzi tub for two, heated toilet seats... oh it was the life! Fireplace in the room... just lovely.
I can't wait!!
I am so thankful for my hubby!!
I am a proud member of the BLB
Posted in I Love My Husband
I love my husband! Can you tell? The first catagory I have listed is for an area where I can brag about him. I have "I love my" hubby blinkies.
There are words that just do not excist in this or any other world for me to use to even come close to the love I have for him! I take joy in supporting him in all he does. I take joy in making him wonderful dinners... (he buys me wonderful kitchen tools!). I take joy in having the house tidy when he comes home. I take great joy and content that he works hard so that I can be home with our children.
The other day as my hubby was working on updating his resume, (you can read more details of why in my "Let them shout for joy" blog.) I went and made him a cup of coffee. Mind you, my husband and I enjoy a good cup of freshly ground, brewed coffee. I think the coffee that morning was "The Fort" made from a company here in Colorado called "Silver Canyon." mmm  It's a 'manly' coffee... even says so on the bag..."Rich, smoky mountain man flavor."
I bring his manly mug to him with his coffee.. he like justs a wee bit of sugar and hardly any cream.
He sips while I stand there with a huge smile on my face.
(When your tasting coffee... the louder you are when you sip, the better! You got to get that coffee to all your taste buds!  I really am serious about this.. LOL)
He puts down his coffee, gets up and hugs me. (I am such a queen I thought to myself!) He sits back down and says, "You get the BLB award today!"
"Ooooh, I get an award?... what is the BLB award anyway?"
My man says, "The Better Lover Bureau" award! You know.. like the BBB 'cept this one is better!"
Oooooh!!!  I like that award!!
Just for my hubby
Posted in I Love My Husband
He was the one to offer me his coat when I was cold. He was the one that opened doors for me or waited to sit until I did... he offered me a shoulder when my world was kaos. He was the one that my mother prayed for, the one that I would listen to about my faith, the one to admonish my sinful ways and lusts, the one to bring me back to reality. The reality of allowing Christ in my life again.
My dear husband, you are still 'all of that' and more! I am glad I was created just for you!
I love you!
